As you know, life has been kinda hectic as deadlines at the legislature are looming, CAP needs help getting our last hearings on 4 very important bills – all Senate bills. We need lots of support so they can get to their final committees and cross over to the House, where we will have to work extra hard to get these bills through. BUT WE CAN DO IT! Let’s focus on these 4 bills, make them stronger and start reforming our broken correctional system. I have attached info on the 4 bills with talking points and CAP testimony on all of them.

Bob Merce, Vice Chair of the HCR 85 Task Force has booked a room at the Hawai`i Supreme Court so that the Program Committee can get going again. Here is Bob’s email:

The Program Subcommittee finally has a meeting place. We will be meeting on February 20, from 2:00 p.m – 3:30 p.m at the

Supreme Court Building – Aliiolani Hale – Conference Room 101.

When you enter the building, turn right and go to the end of the hall. You will see Room 101. Thank you for your patience. This room was previously booked, but whoever had it cancelled, and it is now reserved for us.

Mahalo for caring about our communities. We CAN change our situation. We can do it. Each of us has a voice. Each of us has more power than we believe we have. Let’s elect good people who care about everyone, not just donors. WE ARE HAWAI`I – WE CARE FOR AND ABOUT EACH OTHER.

Love, Kat
